Artists’ Network Gallery has three separate exhibit areas with 84 linear feet and 672 square feet of display space:

East wall 21′ X 8′

South east corner 9′ and 18′ X 8′

West wall 36′ X 8′.

Costs: members $800, non-members $1400, + HST.

Duration: Exhibitions run for 3 weeks and include an opening reception.

Solo exhibition: yes.

Group exhibition: one artist must be a member of the Artists’ Network to qualify for the member’s rate, and is responsible to bring the other artist’s together. In some cases we may be able to help you locate additional artists to exhibit with. All artists must complete their own submission form.

Non-member’s: We welcome submissions from all artists, per our mandate. You are encouraged to join the Artists’ Network for an annual fee of $150, and you will automatically receive the member’s exhibition cost. The submission form includes the opportunity to join, additionally, membership qualifies you for reduced cost to the Artwalk series outdoor exhibitions, and free monthly seminars.

Events: Artist talks, demonstrations and art-making are welcome. The gallery has chairs and tables but no clean up facilities other than washrooms.

We jury all submissions for acceptable content and quality of original fine art only.

The gallery and washrooms are fully accessible.

Gallery hours

The Artists’ Network Gallery is located within Dark Horse Coffee and we are limited to their hours. We share the gallery with Riverdale B.I.A. Artists may attend during all hours listed, however we will confirm your potential gallery attendance to ensure it’s open.

Saturday Artists are welcome to open the gallery with prior arrangement from Artists’ Network Gallery.

Installation & Takedown

We will assist your art installation and takedown. All art must be suitable for installation:

  • Completely dry, set, cured, fixed, or protected.
  • Secure hanging attachments including wired, d-rings, mounting holes, track, or other.
  • Label on the back with title, artist, price, size, medium, year.

Special installation requirements must be approved by the Artists’ Network Gallery including large, heavy, fragile, kinetic, or other. Briefly describe them on the submission form in Special requirements field, we will discuss at later date.

We cannot accept unscheduled artwork delivery nor may anything be left with Dark Horse Coffee staff. Art takedown and removal must be completed in agreed time, as the gallery does not have storage space. Artwork delivered or not removed outside of agreed time will incur a storage fee automatically deducted from artist’s sales reimbursement invoice.

Sales and commission

Sales conducted by the Artists’ Network Gallery will retain 5% processing fee. We do not charge commission on artist’s own sales.

After the exhibition we will prepare an invoice listing all artwork sold, 5% processing fee, any other outstanding costs, and total payable to the artist. To be reimbursed the artist must sign and return the invoice; a cheque will be mailed to the artist within one week of receipt.

All taxes are the responsibility of the artist.

We will provide the buyer a sales receipt including the artist’s name and artwork details, as well as any other documentation the artist(s) provide. We will package the artwork for the buyer with materials the artist provides.

The artist is responsible for artwork insurance. Artists’ Network Gallery is not liable for theft or damage of artwork during the exhibition, installation or takedown and removal.


We will post your exhibition to our website, social media channels, and to the Artists’ Network 1,000+ email list. We will print a small poster and announce your exhibition on our street signage. We can provide Artists’ Network Gallery logo file for your own promotional work.

Opening reception

Artists’ Network Gallery will manage an opening reception for each exhibition including LCBO special occasion permit and purchase drinks and light food for about 30 visitors. Our staff will remain through to closing, lay out all provisions prior to opening, assist with service, and clean up. Opening reception will be on Friday after installation unless otherwise agreed between all exhibiting artists.

Art policy

Artists’ Network Gallery exhibits original fine art only.

We are committed to always act with fairness, honesty, integrity and openness; respect the opinions of others and treat all with equality and dignity without regard to gender, race, colour, creed, ancestry, place of origin, political beliefs, religion, marital status, disability, age, or sexual orientation. We expect the same from our artist members. We will not tolerate any abusive or threatening behaviour towards any member of our team. Refusal to comply with this policy may result in an artist being asked to withdraw from an exhibition immediately with no refund.

Gallery co-tenants

Artists’ Network Gallery is a co-tenant with the Riverdale B.I.A. but they have no responsibility to the art exhibitions.

Streetcar Developments, our landlord, occasionally use the gallery or rent it to their clients for special event. All art will remain on display during all events.
